The third eye chakra, or Ajna, is the center of consciousness, associated with intuition and spirituality.
It is located at the level of the eyebrows, between the two eyes.
When out of balance, it creates a lack of rationalism and clarity, fear of change and denial of reality, and an attraction to material things.
A balanced root chakra will bring clairvoyance, trust in one's sixth sense and intuition, clarity and alertness of mind, and a balance between the rational and the spiritual.
