Shiva Lingam

The Shiva Lingam is a sacred and revered stone in the Hindu tradition.

This object of worship is one of the most emblematic spiritual representations of India. It symbolizes the union of Shiva, the masculine energy, (Shiva means "the beneficent" or "the one who brings good luck", Hindu god of creation, destruction and transformation and one of the three great gods of Hinduism) and represents it in its symbolic form, the formless divine, and Shakti, a word which designates the feminine energy in Hinduism.

Yin and Yang are symbolized by its ovoid shape thus representing perfect balance.
Some associate the lingam with ancient fertility cults probably due to its phallic shape.

How to use, purify and recharge stones in lithotherapy

The Shiva Lingam stone is composed of sicillium dioxide, iron, and magnesium. It belongs to the jasper family and contains agate, basalt, iron oxide, jasper, and quartz. It has a hardness between 6.5 and 7.

To purify the Shiva lingam, place your stone in distilled water.
Wipe it with a soft cloth.

You can also purify your stone by fumigation, by burning a bundle of white sage, incense or a stick of Palo Santo, or with the sound technique by placing the stone in a singing bowl.

Then recharge your stone by exposing it to soft sunlight in the morning or at sunset.
You can also place it on a pile of quartz for a day.
