How to Use, Purify, and Recharge Obsidian Stones
Obsidian is associated with the root chakra.
Located at the base of the spine, the root chakra reinforces the feeling of security and anchoring to the Earth.
Worn as a pendant, obsidian will be a powerful protective amulet.
For example, you can use a tumbled stone for self-confidence and to block fear and insecurity.
Placed near your bed, it will act to eliminate mental tension.
Used by therapists, obsidian will be positioned between the hands as well as at the root chakra. It will protect the mind from all instabilities and fight against surrounding negative energies.
Obsidian does not necessarily require purification since it repels negative energies and evil forces.
You can still clean your obsidian stones when you purchase them by rinsing them thoroughly with clean water, or by fumigation, by burning a bundle of white sage, incense or a stick of Palo Santo.
You can also use the sound technique by placing the stone in a singing bowl.
Then recharge your stone by exposing it to moonlight overnight, especially during a full moon.
It can also be recharged in sunlight for 1-2 hours.
You can also recharge your obsidian by placing it on a large pile of quartz for a few hours.
